Becka's Hottie of the Week

Dark and mysterious, you can't deny there is "something" about Joaquin Phoenix. I remember seeing him for the first time as the adorable little boy in Spacecamp, who's robot friend launches him and his Spacecamp buddies into space while on a "test ignition" of the space shuttle. Back then, he was billed as "Leaf Phoenix", but either way, he was my age, and I've watched his career ever since.

I'm ninteen days older than Mr. Phoenix. I was born on October 9th, 1974, while he was born on October 28th, 1974. It's kinda cool "growing up" with an actor, seeing where their lives lead in comparison to your own. Joaquin became a vegan and he smokes too damn much, so no doubt kissing him would taste like licking an ashtray. (No offense, Joaquin lol)

But that doesn't detract from the fact that he's pretty to look at and a damn fine actor. If I were an artist, I would probably find his face fascinating, because his features are smooth and striking with great lines. He'd be a great subject to draw or sculpt.

However, his eyes are what get you, deep and green and piercing, making your heart go all a-flutter. And his thick, dark hair makes you want to grab a handful. LOL

Congratulations, Joaquin Phoenix. You're Becka's Hottie of the Week!

Hi Becka! Just came across your blog. I'm a big fan of Joaquin too. I was lucky enough to meet him a couple months ago. He is really sweet, and so humble! Just one thing, his eyes are very green, but like I've never seen green eyes before. They're beautiful. Thanks for this "Hottie of the Week"! Gorgeous!

**cough**sputter**wheeze**

WHAT THE HELL KINDA FANGIRL AM I?!?!?

Ahem. Sorry, I had something in my throat. LOL I went ahead and changed that offending "blue" to green for ya, Kitten_Love. And wow, you got to meet him? Awesome. I don't think I would "swoon" per se, but I'd probably blush bright red. I get embarrassed easily talking to good-looking men. Throw "famous" into the mix, and I'm a giggling idiot.

LOL

Of course, I've never met an actor before, so I wouldn't know. However, I DID sit RIGHT NEXT TO (and we're talking RIGHT next to, I rubbed elbows with the guy the entire time) to Jeff Goldblum at the premiere of Mission Impossible (the first one) at Mann's Chinese Theater. Is it Grauman's again now? I dunno. But when the movie was done and the lights came on, I was like HOLY SH*T WAS THAT JEFF GOLDBLUM?? haha

Sunglasses and all, the whole nine. He's pretty much in real life what you see in the movies. LOL

And again, I didn't say hi, because once I realized it was him, I kinda got all shy and looked away. DAMN MY SHYNESS!!

LOL Am I babbling? Good thing this blog is called "Becka's Babble" then, eh? *sigh*

:)

(Who's not jealous in the least you got to meet Joaquin.)

Hey Becka - That's really cool about Jeff Goldblum. I really loved him in the 80s movies. Who could forget "The Fly"? You shoulda said Hi!

I don't know if this will work or not, but here's a great close up of Joaq's green eyes. (It didn't work!) If it doesn't work, just visit my blog, and look through my archives too. I think every post I've made has Joaquin pics except for... maybe... three.
*blushing*

Well - I tried to post a link, but it didn't work, so you can visit my blog if ya want to, sweetie.

Hey Becka, Just to save ya some time, I just checked my blog archives, and the close up green eyes pic that I tried to link for you is in September. So just click on September and it's right at the top! Of course, if you want to look at all the other months (there aren't that many), you can do that too.
Hugs!

Kitten, yup, his eyes are pretty damn green. How did I miss that? Gah, what a moron **slaps forehead**. Judging by your blog, I'm not quite the dedicated fan you are. LOL But I LOVE the blog, btw. And dear Lord, he looks wonderful in a beard! **le sigh** :D

You know, I didn't say "Hi" to Jeff because of a few factors. There was my complete and utter debilitating shyness, and also the fact that I didn't want to make a "scene" making him feel uncomfortable or anything. I'm not sure how many people realized who he was, and I know stars like their privacy.

But I did, however, smile at the guy, and I realized he knew that I knew, so I left it at that. LOL

Becka,
Hey! I was just checking out your previous posts and saw the Leo Hottie of the Week! I have to agree totally with you on that one too! I loved him in Titanic (back in the day).
He sure has grown up in the last couple of years though! I would highly recommend seeing "The Departed"! It was just in theaters (and might still be in some areas), so it might be coming out on DVD soon. That's a must see! He is so "grown up" and H O T in that movie, I couldn't believe it was the same Leo! It's a great flick to top it off, but I'll warn that it IS very violent. Not sure how you feel about those kinds of movies, but that's my only disclaimer! Good luck with your writing! Feel free to visit my blog anytime you need a "Joaq Fix"! tee hee!!
